Frequently asked questions
Can Handpicked weave furniture be left outside?
Yes. Handpicked weave furniture is designed to stay outside all year round. Our frames are made from aluminium which has good corrosion resistance and is a lightweight material with a solid structure. The frames are then plaited with a synthetic weave which is durable and extremely hard wearing to cope with severe atmospheric temperature changes, and UV stabilised to avoid fading.
Can my Handpicked furniture cushions be left outside?
Unfortunately not. The cushions are polyester and are therefore not waterproof. We advise that they are protected from the elements when not being used, and ensure that they are clean and dry before being stored.
How should I clean my Handpicked furniture?
Handpicked furniture requires minimal maintenance. The aluminium frames and synthetic wicker ensure a trouble-free life. The weave is strong, flexible and durable to high and low temperatures. The weave can be wiped down with water and a non-foaming detergent and left to dry naturally. Your cushion covers can be washed in lukewarm water with mild soapy detergent. It is advised that they are left to dry naturally and, while still damp, put them back on the cushions to help them back to their original shape. Do not tumble dry. Do not iron. Do not dry clean.
What is the Guarantee on my Handpicked Weave furniture?
Your Handpicked weave furniture carries a one year guarantee against manufacturing faults. The cushions and seating are not waterproof and should be protected from the elements.
Are weave storage boxes waterproof?
The storage box is designed to protect items inside in a light shower, but is not fully waterproof. During heavy rain water may get through the lining so we recommend the storage box is kept in a sheltered location.

What are the table tops made of?
Poly-cement is an organic material which is influenced by light and daily use. Each table top will have its own individual appearance and can vary slightly in both colour and finish. There may be areas with small insignificant holes in the surface and at the edge of the table top. These do not affect the furniture’s lifespan, quality and durability, and are not indicative of defects in the table.
How do I care for my poly-cement table top?
Poly-cement has an open pore structure, making it sensitive to grease, liquids, colour etc. It has been treated during manufacture but should be maintained 2-3 times a year with a cement sealer purchased at a DIY store, or with the supplied poly-cement protection.
Small scratches and calcium spots can be treated with the supplied poly-cement protection.
How do I clean my poly-cement table top?
This should be cleaned with regular neutral Ph soap solution, and wiped afterwards with a soft cloth. Do not use chemicals, acidic products or solvents to clean the table. If the table top takes a long time to dry after cleaning, this indicates that it needs to be sealed again to maintain durability.
Spills should be immediately cleaned to prevent spots and blotches which are noy covered by the warranty. Always use protective mats for very hot or cold items to avoid condensation.
How do I store my Poly Cement table during winter?
The furniture should be stored in a dry place in the winter and must be covered using the cover supplied. Ensure that no condensation occurs under the cover as this may freeze on the table top.

What timber is used?
Our Handpicked wood furniture range is made from FSC® 100% Acacia. With its warm tones and natural beauty, acacia is an extremely beautiful wood – and it’s highly practical too!
What maintenance will I need to do?
Good maintenance will help your furniture last longer. Every now and then, give your furniture a thorough clean. Algae, dirt, dust and leaves have a habit of settling in and around furniture so start by brushing away loose dirt with a soft broom or cloth. A low powered garden hose will gently wash away stains and residue. For stuck-on dirt, use a sponge saturated with water and mild soap to wash away. Try to avoid using brass brushes, pressure washers or steel wool as they can damage and discolour the furniture’s surface.
